I tend to work mostly in series that deal with philosophical issues related to religion, political and environmental concerns as viewed in context with current world events. The “Bound” series is devided into two visions. The first being a reflection of our unchecked overt consumerism as a nation. Our clamor for inexpensive goods has sent corporate America to other countries where they are able to exploit the lax rules involving labor, and environmental protection. In essence we are poisoning the world to make inexpensive goods that we will, eventually, throw away. By using ash and trash in a acrylic polymer emulsion, I hope to convey the eventual breakdown of world resources and destruction of the ecosystem. BOUND, on the other hand, is also a belief that we all need to start working together. We are bound to each other just as we are bound to this earth. |

I received my first set of acrylic paints as an 8th grade graduation preasent, 41 years ago (1966). Been building my stretcher bars & stretching canvas since 1976. One of these days I'll learn to paint. |
